Does not rotate

Drive Belt: A broken or slipped drive belt stops the drum from rotating. Check and replace if needed.

Drum Rollers/Bearings: Worn drum rollers or bearings can prevent spinning. Inspect and replace if necessary.

Motor: A faulty motor stops the drum from rotating. Test and replace if required.

Idler Pulley: A damaged idler pulley can prevent the drum from turning. Check and replace if needed.

Blocked Drum: Ensure there are no items blocking the drum’s movement

Produces no heat

Thermal Fuse: This safety feature disconnects power to the heating element if the dryer overheats. If it’s blown, it must be replaced.

Heating Element: In electric dryers, a faulty or burnt-out heating element will fail to produce heat. Check it and replace it if needed.

Thermostat: The thermostat controls the dryer’s temperature. A malfunctioning thermostat can prevent the dryer from heating correctly.

Will not start

Power Supply: Ensure the dryer is securely plugged in and the outlet is working. Test the outlet with another device to confirm it’s functioning.

Circuit Breaker: Check your home’s circuit breaker to see if it has tripped. Reset it if necessary.

Door Switch: The dryer won’t start if the door isn’t fully closed or if the door switch is faulty. Inspect the door latch and switch for any damage.

Child Lock: Some dryers feature a child lock to prevent operation. Consult your user manual to deactivate it if it’s enabled.

Start Button: If the start button is unresponsive, it may be worn out or faulty, potentially requiring professional repair.

Thermal Fuse: A blown thermal fuse can stop the dryer from starting. This safety feature may need replacing.

Water Tank (Condenser Dryers): For condenser dryers, ensure the water tank isn’t full, as this can prevent the dryer from starting.

Delayed Start: Verify that the delayed start function hasn’t been accidentally activated.

No airflow

Lint Filter: A clogged lint filter restricts airflow. Clean it thoroughly.

Vent Hose: Check the vent hose for blockages or kinks and ensure it’s properly connected.

Exhaust Duct: Inspect the exhaust duct for lint or blockages and clean it out to restore airflow.

Blower Wheel: If the blower wheel is damaged or blocked, clean or replace it.

Air Intake: Ensure the air intake is clear of dust or debris.

Condenser/Heat Pumps: For condenser/Heat Pumps dryers, check and clean the condenser unit if clogged.

Overloading: Avoid overloading the dryer, as this can restrict airflow.
